More on JITT-- The Best Way for the Student to Work on the Web Question
I'm pretty sure that the greatest concern of students during the first week was that their science class was eating up all the time that they had for homework. Part of that was certainly just getting oriented to using the Website while part was an insufficient understanding of its purpose.
The principal purpose of the "Web Question" is to provide me with some data about the readiness of the entire class for today's lecture/lab/activity. I suggest the following workflow: 20 - 30 minutes on that day's homework (might have been started or even finished in class or study hall). Retrieve the Daily Question and spend 10 minutes providing the best answer possible (set a kitchen timer if needed to prevent exceeding that time). Then spend 5 minutes or so on the reflection, submit and be done. If the assignment and Daily Question require more time than that, I'm asking too much and the results will show it.
If access to the site on a daily basis is just too much for an individual, please call it to my attention. We'll make an appropriate accomodation.
Website Feature -- A homework calendar page -- see a synopsis of the week ahead. There is now a link in the left side-bar for this.

Finally
Please continue to be patient as the dust settles and we find a comfortable routine to integrate Web work with class work. Continue to send e-mail with concerns and frustrations. I take advice sometimes too.
